Graeme has been performing as a solo artist for more than 20 years and was a long term member of the old time Americana band, Appalachian Heaven String Band. Amy is steeped in the traditional music of Ireland.

They came together in 2022 through their shared interest in playing traditional tunes but, with a batch of new songs, they soon began collaborating to expand their repertoire.

Based on Dja Dja Wurrung country in the Central Victorian gold fields, they chose the name Alluvium to reflect the rich history of the region.
